ASGRA website linking policy

Atlantic States Gay Rodeo Association

Jul 1, 2007

This policy covers sites which have no direct connection to ASGRA.
Sites which are considered to have a direct connection to ASGRA are companies or individuals who are either ASGRA members, ASGRA sponsors, or give discounts to ASGRA members.

Links placed on the ASGRA website will be limited to those that are consistent with the Association's goals and objectives. There should be a complementary and supportive relationship between a linked site and ASGRA.

Sites which will be considered for linking include:

  1. Sites which are rodeo related, or are of interest to the gay western lifestyle
  2. Sites that are gay related and of direct interest to residents and visitors to the Washington DC area,
  3. ASGRA sponsor sites
  4. Linking will only be allowed to sites that are in "good taste"
Procedure:
  1. Requests to place a link on the ASGRA website will be forwarded to the Webmaster.
  2. The Webmaster will review the prospective site and make a determination whether establishing a link is consistent with our policy.
  3. If the web master has any doubts about a specific links appropriateness or inappropriateness, the link will be referred to a member of the Executive Committee who will either approve the link or refer the matter to the full Board for a decision.
  4. The web master will provide a monthly e-mail report, at least 3 days prior to scheduled Board meetings, to all board members of any new site links for board review. The e-mail will contain embedded linking to each site so members can easily review the site. A printed version will be made available at each board meeting for review.
Sites which will not be linked to under ANY circumstances, or will be removed from the links page, include:
  1. Sites who display graphic or sexually explicit material,
  2. Sites who espouse discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation,
  3. Sites whose primary purpose is to offer links to other sites which are pornographic
  4. Sites which require the user to join a membership to view the site,
  5. Sites which produce large numbers of popup advertisements or contain pages that contain code which produces uncontrollable window elements (IE you can't close the window, pages that create new popup windows when closed or windows that take over the entire screen)
  6. Sites who espouse any position that the Board of Director's views as inappropriate
  7. Sites who express open opposition to ASGRA sponsors.
