Event Roundup

We couldn't have asked for better weather for our Horse Power/Pedal Power Camp Out. Temperatures were mild and the skies were clear for the 10 folks who pitched their tents, campers and horse trailers in Cedarville State Forest.

After a trot around the trails, riders came back to the group area for the evening cookout out and campfire. Everyone enjoyed eating hot dogs, potato salad, chips and an assortment of olives. Cowgirl T's bean dish was especially yummy. Folks hung out by the glowing campfire talking and roasting marshmallows as evening turned to nightfall.

On Sunday morning the group came together again for breakfast with campers contributing some of their own goodies to the ASGRA supplied donuts, trail mix and granola bars. ASGRA President Patrick and campers Michael and Chris got the campfire going again to stave off a bit of the morning chill. These three boys showed their wilderness skills by getting the fire roaring from a few matches and kindling.

As dawn moved into mid-morning, campers saddled up to make their way around the Cedarville trails. It was decided that Sunday's morning ride would cover more trail than Saturday. Riders mapped out a trail between the orange, blue and brown trails to cover a good amount of the Park's 3000 acres.

Coming back early afternoon, campers brushed and watered their horses before breaking camp for the weekend. All had a good time and were definitely in favor of doing it again next year.

Our donations from the weekend allowed us to raise $100 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
